The Joker
By: Steve Miller
Copyright: 2001
Some people call me a space cowboy, yeah Some call me the gangster of love Some people call me Maurice 'Cause I speak of the pompitous of love
People keep talkin' about me baby Say I'm doing you wrong Don't you worry baby no don't you worry momma I'm right here, right here, right here, right here at home
'Cause I'm a picker I'm a grinner I'm a lover And I'm a sinner Playing my music in the sun I'm a joker I'm a smoker I'm a midnight toker Sure don't want to hurt no one
I'm a picker I'm a grinner I'm a lover And I'm a sinner Sure don't want to hurt no one I'm a smoker I'm a hooker (smoker) I'm a midnight toker Get my lovin' on the run
You're the prett'est thing That I ever did see I really love your peaches Want to shake your tree
Lovey-dovey, lovey-dovey, lovey-dovey all the time Ooo-eee baby, I'll sure show you a good time
I'm a picker I'm a grinner I'm a lover And I'm a sinner Playin' my music in the sun
I'm a joker I'm a smoker I'm a midnight toker Sure don't want to hurt no one
I'm a picker I'm a grinner I'm a lover And I'm a sinner Sure don't want to hurt no one
I'm a joker I'm a smoker I'm a midnight toker (JL sings something along the lines of ninja toker didn't ya I toker I'm a teachin' hooker I'm a T.J. Hooker) Get my lovin' on the run
You're the prett'est thing That I ever did see I really love your peaches Want to shake your tree
Lovey-dovey, lovey-dovey, lovey-dovey all the time Ooo-eee baby, I'll sure show you a good time

Steve Miller Band. "The Joker" album....circa....you ready for this? 1973!!! Today's "Classic Rock" is forever REAL ROCK!!
Personally, my two Steve Miller favorites are "Take The Money And Run" and "Jungle Love". "Fly Like An Eagle" brings up some fond 1977 memories, though.

The first poster was wrong. It's not the Eagles.
It's the Steve Miller Band. The name of the song is The Joker.
Great song, by the way.
