This is one of those hypothetical questions that is impossible to answer without having lived through it personally.
I have, and it is the worst thing that can happen to a family. It is never resolved in your heart, and it niggles away at the back of your mind constantly. Even when you aren't thinking about it, you are.
Forgiveness is a nice thought, and one that we toss about a lot, and I'd like to say I have forgiven some people. But when it comes down to the middle of the night, it would be a hard sell for me to say 'yes'...

Nope, probably not........but I would hope that time would make it possible for me to give some degree of forgiveness for my own sake, if the guilty party owned up to what they'd done...and was given appropriate punishment for the crime committed. I may forgive them to some degree, but I'd never forget, nor would I want anything to do with them ever again.

I've been raped and know people that has been raped also. I'll never forgive them, they can die for all I care. I had a cousin that was beat to death by people and I hope they rote in hell. A brother-in-law that was shot. You never forgive or forget.

No, not really. I'd be willing to pretend I forgave them but I'm not sure how sincere it would be. I'd hope the person was punished and then we could all move on. I'd be secretly praying for their slow and torturous death and I'd probably daydream about killing them myself but I wouldn't act out in that way.

No. Infact, you would have to hold me back from him/her.... or I'd end up in jail myself for beating the SOB within an inch of their life.

Invite them to a pub for some drinks and talk to him about how you feel. It works.
