my husband and i have separated and when we were married he only wore cologne on special occasions, ie christmas, our wedding ect. now when he comes to visit me he always has fresh cologne on, and i know he just put it on cause it is so potent ...so guys (or girls) what does that mean? is it code for something?

Yeah l agree with the others l'd say that perhaps now when he sees you he classes that as a special occassion . He probably wants to smell nice for you and he knows that you notice and l bet he hopes it may help him to win you back. I hope it works if it is what you want also. He is trying to make an effort. By cologne, I assume that you mean shaving lotion. I don't know men who just splash "cologne' on any old time.
My experience is that i use shaving lotion ( which smells nice0 after shaving because it freshens my face and relieves the "sting' of shaving. I do it for the feel, not the smell. My face hurts if I don't use lotion after shaving.
So, if your man is shaving before coming to see you, and is using lotion to make his face feel better, then it is his shaving which has meaning; he knows you like a smooth face.
Don't ponder on such things too long. Not everything a person does has some deep-seated codified meaning.

He is trying to connect with you again. If it was only for special occasions, then you are the special occasion. He wants you back even if he doesn't realize it. That is the reason for the cologne.

It's possible that he had a date with another woman before he came to visit you, or he put the cologne on for you, or he may be meeting someone after he leaves your place.

My opinion is he's feeling less sure of himself, so he's trying to use what he can (i.e., cologne) to make himself feel better, more confident. I'm not sure if he's doing that only with you, or with others in general.
It may be "code", but more likely I think he's grasping for some sense of control or something he can do to give himself confidence.

for me...it gives me an idea that he wants to work his way to you again knowing that cologne you smell is the only colonge he wears a\on special occasions that you guys are together before...i think he is giving you a hint about it :)but, still your feelings will be the one who answer it...listen to yourself not to other people ok:)

He is doing it for you. Since you are now seperated and not with eachother everyday, seeing you is a special occasion. He still wants you.

ok, Why is he coming to "visit" you? Do you have children that he is coming to see? Or are you attempting a reconcilliation?
If you all are trying to work it out then maybe he considers his visits a "special occasion"?

when u seperate and there are still feelings (his in this case) the other person will always do the things they didn't do before. He wants you to notice him. And you did, think about it! how cute!
