How do use the captureevent and releaseevent in which purpose they are used this event hanlding?

In Netscape navigator we used captureevent to restrict the event and particular object then we use release event for converse of capture event the another one is handleevnt which is used to call event from particular object. Please give example how to use this type event handling and why we are using in Netscape
