Can someone tell me how this war in Iraq is in our national interest? Fighting terrorism ? We are causing it!

Since our leader in thief made Iraq a priority we have to finish what we started. There's more to it than just 'fighting terror'. If you turn on the news or read the news paper, you'll hear the statistics and opinions on how this war is bad for us as a nation. We went in looking for weapons of mass destruction, haven't found any. That doesn't mean they weren't there. They were moved, obviously. If they weren't then the whole world would see America was right for going in and then more nations would offer support on the fight on terror.

We have freedom enough to go and do what we want when we want, many Iraqi's don't have that option. This was isn't the best of America's decisions, in many ways it is only hurting us. But the war is not as simple as Bush deciding we're going to go in and invade. It's an effort to help a nation that has seen suppression sense before the Mayflower reached America.

If the troops are pulled out now, we are only showing everyone that terrorism can go on without accountability. We're in this mess, but we can't simply run away from it. It's terrible that so many soldiers are dying, but a lot more are dying on the other side. The only difference is that America gives a damn that their soldiers are dying. The Iraq war was about controlling Iraq's oil fields.
