I may be reading this wrong. I am certainly reading it differently than others. You want to use light kit made for a ceiling fan as a ceiling light, without a ceiling fan.
The problem here lies in the way the two are made to mount. A ceiling light has a bracket and matching holes and/or bolts to work with an electrical box. A ceiling fan light kit is made to attach to the bottom of the ceiling fan and generally has a hub base with holes on the side to attach it to the fan assembly.
I have never seen an adapter to make them work, although I am sure there is one. You will not find anything like that at Lowes or Home Depot, although they may be able to order one. Check out your local electric supply shops, the ones the electrical contractors use, Price may make it less practical.

If it is already a light too you don't need to do anything special. You didn't mention if it was wired to a wall switch. And if the ceiling is already holding a fan light combination there is no way that it wouldn't be able to hold a much larger light. Mention if there are any wiring concerns. You can replace the fixture with no problem (or as the other person mentioned just take the blades off)

Do you mean remove the fan and put a light? You should be able to remove the fan. Turn off the power. Remove the fan (lift slightly and turn) and disconnect the wires. A storebought light fixture will have a mod kit that will fit into the junction box. Connect the nemw light fixture and Viola!

You don't say if there are seperate switches for the light/fan. All you need do is take the fan/lighht fixture down and wire in the new light. If there's only 1 switch for the unit all you need is black/black white/white for the wiring. If there are two switches you may also have a red wire in the light box. If this is the case, properly wrap up the red and just tuck it into the box as it's not needed. Hope this helps.

Since the electrical box for a fan has a higher rated weight than just a normal junction box, you can use any suspended or surface mounted light fixture up to 40 pounds.
Remove the fan and install the fixture according to the manf's instructions.

maximum fan gentle kits connect directly to the backside of the fan. i've got no longer fixed a fan in some years so my reminiscence ought to be somewhat off, yet you could have the skill to mount one directly to the ceiling field. in line with possibility it incredibly is going to take an adapter plate to transform from the gentle equipment's mounting screw placement to the ceiling field screw placement.
