Someone asks if, under the living situation they have, they should get a Newf. And sure as God made little green apples....there is the "cut and paster" putting up the ENTIRE AKC breed STANDARD to answer the question. Now this is really not giving an answer to the question. The person did NOT ask the breed standard.
And since the site was not even MENTIONED....is that NOT plagerism?????

I get those answers sometimes. I never read them. I mean, if I wanted the whole breed standard, I could look it up myself! I ask questions on these boards because I want feedback from PEOPLE, not a cut-and-paste response. And I really hate it when absolutely no attempt is made to answer the question asked, too.

As an editor, though, I can tell you that it is plagarism. But, being on a chat board forum, it isn't a form of plagarism that is going to get anyone in "trouble." But it is awfully annoying!

Sometimes I cut and paste because I find a large volume of questions can simply be solved by going on and researching the information online. I find that a lot of people who ask questions are just too lazy to actually go on yahoo/google/etc. and type in a simple search term and recieve loads of information. I also want to make sure that the person recieves correct accurate information instead of pokes/guessing @ the answer. I also like to give an experience along with it (and @ times my experience with the answer is just as long as a cut and paste). But I'm always sure that the information provided answers the question (not post the whole site but a bit so that they are enticed to go to the link), and I ALWAYS make sure that I post the link where I go the information so that I don't take credit for someone else's work.

It's plagerism, but because it isn't for a paycheck, or a grade, there's nothing that can be done about it!

My opinion is that the ''cut and pasters'' are to lazy to come up with answers on their own, or they just want peope to think they're smart enough to come up with a mile long answer! Wether it be in pets, or beauty and syle, or parenting!!

Answers shouldn't really have to be thought about, if you know what you're talking about. They should just kinda flow out of you, right? Like with me, (no I'm not bragging, or rubbing it in) when I answer a question, half the time I don't really know where the answer is coming from, and alot of the times, I just sort of type without even knowing where the answer is coming from. And most of my answers are chosen as best answer.

I research my answer(quickly), or I have a link to backup my answer! If people can't have a good answer, or a link to an answer, then they don't need to be answering questions!

Now, I'd like for someone to prove that I copied and pasted this answer! lmao

And then they try to act like they actually know something-- I'll bet most of those people have never even seen a Newf (or whatever the question is about!!!). Then there's the sickos (like Sean J tonight) who just ask stupid sick questions. How sad that they have no life, no life at all. And it's spelled plagiarism.

I agree, too much reading. What bothers me more is people who steal your answer then cut and paste it as their own. I have noticed it a few times especially in the pet section.
Lets keep it fun for everyone and if you are going to "quote", put in quotation marks. That way nobody is plagiarizing or stealing from anyone or anywhere.

i dont like the cut and paste articles that people use (too long) and i really don't like it when people admit that they don't know anything about the subject yet they still answer it, and some of the advice i've read in this pet section would be fatal if someone followed that advice
i want a person to answer my question who has experience and can give real answer

Yes it's pretty annoying....I try to give answers based on experience from life....or if it's a recipe or something I'll give the web site I got it from in the source box....but I won't just cut and paste....
