When I try to burn CD's, using either of my two burners, one internal the other external, I often [but not always] get the software to read the one I am burning, ask for a blank CD to write to, then reject the blank CD. I thought the problem was the brand of CD's I was using, since several in a row would burn using Sony, but not Imation. Then I bot a new supply of Sony CD's. It accepted the first one and started rejecting all the ones that followed again.

Do I need yet another burner? Or is there a software glitch here? BTW I have several programs for 'burning' CD's, and they all seem to do the same thing at times. HELP>

You can try a couple of things....buying one of those CD/DVD drive cleaning discs is one. Another might be for you to go to the Device Manager within Windows and uninstall the drive, then reboot, and let Windows re-install the drivers for the drive. If you can adjust the maximum burn speed of the drive through software that you're using to burn discs, that might help too.
Beyond that, if none of the above work, consider getting a combo DVD/CD drive to replace the one you have. They're relatively inexpensive nowadays anyway. Good luck.

LOL. you're false impression the time period burning a cd. you at the on the spot are not meant to truly burn the cd you need to have a cd burner on your computing gadget that copies the regulations from one cd to the sparkling one in the different slot. It would not actaully burn the cd because it may do the very similar element as what's taking position to you. do not difficulty I take issues actually plenty too.

Are you getting an error message? I was getting an error message on mine that it couldn't burn one of the files. I called tech support and they said, sorry can't help you.
Then I looked closely at the error message and saw that it was looking for a file that wasn't really there. I deleted the file it was looking for and have been able to burn cds.
Check the error message carefully when the cd is ejected (rejected) and see what it says is going on.
