Might loose power for some time due to high winds. Would he be fine for say at the worst 1 day. If not what should or can I do? Thanks!

"a little story; friend of mine passed away and his wife called me 9 months later to take his fish tanks.1 tank was never cleaned or drained.it was basicly a filthy, algae filled rancid tank of muck that sat for 9 months.no running filter for the entire time and the air pump was unplugged for the last month.when i drained it i noticed a "dead" fish in the bottom..suprise it swam away and hid when i went to grab it.A lone african jewell survived for 9 mths without food or filter.and 1 month without oxygen. i nursed his color back and he ended up being a great little pet." Wow. My jack survived about 30 minutes out of his tank he jumped out when was eating he is a fistey one.

He'll be fine for one day. If you're really worried about it, take a cup and dip it into the tank, filling it with water. Then pour the water back into the tank. This will agitate the surface and increase diffusion of oxygen into the water. The pump went out on my flowerhorn cichlid tank at school and he was fine for a couple of days. Good luck!!

Yeah, he'll be just fine for a day. You can stir up the water every now and then to keep it oxygenated, and have a bucket of fresh new water - you can do a small water change if the power outtage lasts more than 12 hours.

well this may be expensive for a large tank but they sell battery operated air pumps and you could get an undergravel filter for when this happens
