why don't urban books (aka Hip Hop Fiction) come out on sound recordings?

i love listening to books especially being a busy mother and working wife, but it seems that my favorites (teri woods, wahida clark, shannon holmes, nikki turner...just to name a few) don't come out on sound recording. at least not at my library.

They may not have been made into recordings. A vast number of good books never reach that step. It's all up to the publishers and/or authors to decide whether they want to record audio books.

Try writing to the publisher and asking if they plan on recording them. After all, they won't do it if they don't think anyone will buy it.

Just because your library does not have a certain audio-book does not mean that it does not exist. Try checking on BarnesandNobles.com and Amazon.com to see if these authors have made audio-books, if you have the money, then purchase them, if not, see if your library has a interlibrary loan system and if they can get them from another library.
