You have an interesting theory. Sigmund Freud also explained people's behavior as motivated by sexuality. I am not aware of any studies agreeing or disagreeing with your theory. You could find an answer, though, in college research. Today, Freud has followers and people who disagree with him.
To get yourself a job as a mental health counselor, some college education is needed. Counselors often have college degrees as social workers, psychologists, or psychiatrists. The minimum for social work is probably a four year Bachelor's Degree of undergraduate study in a college or university. For a psychologist, the minimum is probably a Master's Degree plus the Bachelor's Degree, but usually requires a PhD. The Psychiatrist is a Medical Doctor (M.D.) and requires medical training and certification. I believe the Association for Retarded Citizens (ARC) hires "counselors" with a two year community college Associates Degree.
