some good melodic/power metal does it (no screaming required) with a decent beat (like you're riding waves, not too fast or slow), jazz and classical deep into the night, alternative rock when you feel yourself sleepy and ready to head back or pull over somewhere.
Seems I've overlooked the main point of this question -- what gets me going is solid rock or metal infused with jazz, blues, classical, flamenco, or even polka or trance/chill. Great question.
