i own a shop, and you need to make sure the coolant is full in it,,this is important,,if it gets a little low it will make it not heat up as good as it should,,other than that it should heat up pretty good ,make sure the temperature selector is working good also,,sometimes these will stick on the Taurus and cause it to only get warm,,good luck hope this help,s.,happy new years,

Well i would think you put 190 degree thermostat in it so that should make it hott . Question does the fan cycle only after the motor has warmed up ? If it runs all of the time and is not belt driven then that would be a problem .
Next thing i'd check is move the lever from hott to cold and listen for the door to open and close . But if it's vacumm driven it maybe hard to hear it moving .
When you changed the antifreeze was it nasty or did you at anytime add stop leak to it cooling system ??
If yes to any of the above questions then you might want to get your system flushed your heater core maybe clogged . But if you never got your radiator fixed > hole plugged< then flushing might open the leak back up .

When was the thermostat changed? If you changed it recently was it because of no heat or overheatiing in the engine? There are four likely causes for this and they are thermostat (even if it is new), heater control valve, bad water pump, and blown head gasket. Have a competent mechanic check it immediately just in case it is one of the latter two. Best of luck

there's a via-bypass hose in step with the heater center that enables the nice and cozy coolant to truly enables the nice and cozy coolant to do in basic terms that 'bypass the heater center. decrease the line and set up a blockage in that line and you're turning out to be good warmth lower back. I even have completed this to many vehicles and it works completely with out sick impacts on the engine.
