might be cold. Make sure the temperature in their habitat and swimming water is in the mid 70's at bare minimum with basking areas up to 90 or so. They can't digest food if they get too cold...not to mention, some species of turtle aestivate (hibernate) at ceratin temps.

I love red eared sliders! Anyway, try earth worms. Sliders love food that move and I know that was a favorite for my turtles when I had them. If you can't dig up your own, try a fishing store. They sell worms for bait. Also, make sure you keep them in a tank with plenty of room. This will also encourage them eat.

PS. I used to keep my sliders in a small pond outside in the summer, so I never heated the pond. I don't think sliders need water that is that warm. They ate fine outside without heating the pool. I am sure room temperature is more than sufficient for sliders. But they do need sun light (or a sun lamp) to harden their shells. That's very important.

i tell you exactly what is going on. you've had them for about 2, 3 days now. some RES turtles don't eat when they first get to a new enviroment. like most animals. they're afraid and they dont know you yet. just give them time and they'll eat... i myself have 2, a male and female, they didn't eat their first day but as they saw i wasnt a threat then they decided to trust where they were and so they ate. so just let them get to know you and they'll get to know you. plus i hope your feeding them under water not taking them out and trying to feed them cause that just wont work they need to be under the water. well i hope that helps good luck with them.

What are your feeding? Just turtle food? Try a little raw liver or burger, and / or catch a couple of flies and toss them in. Do you have enough water for them to swim in, and a sunning rock for them to crawl onto, as well as an aquarium heater to keep the water warm?
