Yes. In your first trimester of pregnancy they usually do vaginal ultrasounds in addition to abdominal. After the first trimester the baby and uterus are big enough to do only the abdominal.

When i was around 7weeks prego they did a vaginal ultrasound, to check on the baby.. so yea they were able to see the baby.. If they were looking for cyst I think if you were pregnant they would have noticed, and being that they were doing a detailed ultrasound, they would have been paying good attention.. hope that gives you an idea

Yes. As a matter of fact, if you're earlier than 7 weeks, that might be the only way to check your uterus for openings and to make sure the fetus has attached properly.

yes....I had it done both times i was pregnant at 5 months. They do this to check the baby and sometimes determine the sex and how far along you may actually be.

Yes, ultrasounds are always vaginal in the earliest part of pregnancy.
