My boyfriend and I have seen a ghost in my house, quite a bit lately, and we want to find out if anyone died there. I would like to know names and ages and what happend, but would be happy with just names.

most of the answers you are looking for would be in public records. head to the court house and check out previous owners of the home. from there you could check with newspaper archives for obituaries (or land transfers which should also be at the court house.) newspapers would also have any stories relating to the home if anything significant happened there. if you want specifics (or not) people who have live in the area for a long time or a local historian is a great resource.

Interloaf has an excellent answer. I am an amateur house historian and have done that for people.
If your house was purchased in the last 10 or 15 years or so, the previous owners had to give a written disclosure if there were any tragedies, hauntings, etc., that are known to them. There may be legal recourse is they failed to disclose what they knew.
I also like the answer "pray". I am a charismatic Christian. If you can find one of us who believes that ghosts are demonic influences, maybe you could get someone to pray throughout the house. I have done that before.

Its just as simple as looking up sex offenders in your area. Thats whats great about the system and the area, its all public records. And about you seeing ghosts, I cosign with everyone else, you need to get on your real estate agent, really you should fire your agent, because it is against the law for your real estate agent to sell you a home without telling you pertaint information about a slaying or a killing in the house. Do this and call it a night......or not.

If you bought the house, any death should have been in the disclosure. Just renting? Ask your landlord or a long residing neighbor.
