It was more than I expected!
I had an awesome time with my family & my husband's family.

It was fun watching my 1 year old nephew trying to figure out what was going on. (& Crying when TMX Elmo started having a seizure!)

My husband and I got so many things that we didn't expect and we ate 3 Christmas meals.

So we had a wonderful, blessed Christmas!

I hadn't expected much and I didn't get much--I don't mean gifts or anything, I mean joy and happiness. It was awkward and tiring and I kept thinking,....are all families like this????

I am going to save my $$ all year long so that come next Christmas I can leave town and have a Christmas with just me, my dh, and my girls somewhere in New Mexico or Colorado.

From now on I will do the extended family visiting before or after Christmas. I can't handle another Christmas here under everyone else's terms no matter how well-intentioned they are. I have a lot of drips in the family and they just ruin things for everyone else.

I was expecting to have a lonely Christmas since I was away from home for the first time and having to spend the holiday at work. So, I was surprised when I had a wonderful day and got an unexpected Christmas gift.

It didn't feel like a normal Christmas because I was away, but it was still perfectly lovely. It was definitely everything I had hoped it would be. How was yours?

Our Christmas was even better than we expected! The total understanding of the Santa thing was alive and flowing in our daughter! She was beside herself with excitement!

I spent it at home alone, going out only once to get coffee at the convenience store. It was great!
