It (1966) with Roddy Mc Dowell, he found an ancient statue and read the magic spell...then the statue just obeys him, do everything what he wants.
it is hard to find a DVD, no one knows this classic anymore.

The statue was supposed to be the Golem from the Czech legend. Pretty sure the title was IT. But you might find it by cross referencing Golem.
I miss Roddy.

I do remember it - it was a mainstay of Friday night horror films on TV. I thought it was a capsule that was put into it's head that activated but it's a scroll. Had been keeping an eye out for this film but it seems to have gone off the radar and I couldn't remeber who starred in it, so thanks for the question.
