that sometimes you have to go back to the core, less complicated, and simple version of yourself...and then build on that again? (Basically regroup/ rethink)

Sometimes that is a good thing yes...however if it is something that you need to do often it might be wise to make sure you are not simply trying to make yourself what the situation or person wants you to be. :)
