I decided to join the Marines after I graduated so instead of playing football, I did JROTC.I was 5'11" 215 lbs. in high school and very fast.I didn't realize the speed thing until later. While in JROTC I competed in the Physical Training Team.I timed my 40 and turned up a 4.5 consistantly(yes its true).I had an explosive start as well. I gave a 5'5" 140 lbs. guy a 10 yard headstart and beat him on a 60 yard race, the guy would also compete. The people I raced in the Marines were from 5'4" to 6'3" and 130 to 185lbs. One was 6'1" 160lbs. and I beat him off the start for 20 yards and he was gaining, I pulled my hamstring toward the end and he won ( it would have been close, next time I'll stretch).I can tackle, intercept, catch, if it hits my hands 98% of the time I got it. I can also take hit. The people I've played against all played high school football and say that I am fast and always ask if I played. I have pics on http://www.myspace.com/albertozavala... check it out and let me know.

Why don't you try playing at community college then at a four year college. Mike Anderson who played with the Broncos and is now with the Ravens, went into to Marines. He didn't even play high school football (he was on the band). He physically developed late played a little football in the marines and went on to play in college. If your wllling to put up with practice, training, and coaches on your ***, I say go for it. You never know.

Football players are freaks. If you ever saw these guys, you would understand. There is still might be hope for you to actually play against the pros. There are two ways actually. One is a flag football tournement where the winners get to play against NFL pros. There is a cable show called Joes vs Jocks which is a game/reality show where you compete with aged stars in sports against other Joes.

You could try college ball including community college. See if you can get on the Navy football team.
