Acceptance to Oxford is extremely difficult regardless of the subject. Exceptional grades are not merely enough to gain admission, that just puts your letter on the desk. Extra circular activities, professional recommendations, interviews & essays will follow should the chosen department take a shine to you. Oxford is also nortourious for being favourible to the public schools (private school in america) so your gonna need some money or some fancy heritage if push comes to shove.
I cant really comment on Harvard to much, great reputation for education, i would assume its a bigger establishment & has a wider range of scholorships due to college sports having mass media appeal.
In conclusion i would say Oxford is harder.

I've heard that acceptance into UK universities is based on interviews and APs more than anything else. They like foreign students because they pay higher tuition. I believe about 1/6 foreign applicants gets into Oxford and about 9 or 10% get into Harvard.

Oxford is hard ive got freinds who been rejected they had subjects at 100% extra ciricular coming out of their ears. You have to take admissions tests when you are there then have interviews.
Harvard is also done on blind admissions policy so its makes it more fair in a way but i would say oxford is harder.

As an American, it is sooo easy to be accepted to Oxford, but
I must tell you, I completely flunked out do to my spelling and
over indulgence in Scottish wiskey and Irish beer. But who
cares, theres alway St. Andrews. Even much better there, the
football games and golf games and beer drinking in the pubs
are sooooo much better anyways. Who cares about the future,
do what you love and love what you do. God save the Queen....
and the Guinuess.....

Probably about the same. They are both among the top five universities in the world.
