A friend of mine told me that for mine and my brothers age, we are way to close. I mean not in the dirty perverted way either. I'm 26 and he is 23. We used to work together but I got a better job. We hang out alot and go out to the movies and eat. He'll even come over and stay the night, he sleeps in the guest room. He is more like my best friend.
We were raised really close and I always looked out for him when we were growing up.
I do have to meet the girls he dates I don't want him dating some nasty ho or someone that is going to hurt him. And he meets the guys that I date and gives me his opinion and all. We talk about our problems and everything. As I said its like my brother is my best friend
But it has got me wondering her comment if we arent to close?
Or strange for two adult siblings to be best friends?
She is an only child so maybe she doesn't get it.

It's not weird, it's wonderful you and your brother are best friends. My brother is 12 years older than me, and I wish we could have that kind of relationship, but our ages were always too far apart.
The only problem I could see is that as you get older, you will both want to forge relationships and get married, and you need to be careful that you don't interfere too much with each other's lives as you mature.

I admire you your brother is your best friend at the same time. I am sure you love him very very much that's why you worry someone would hurt his feeling. Then at the other hand, he is still an individual. I would say instead of telling him why to do or choose, is it better being his best listener and giving him advises. Let him make his decisions. Sometimes, we grow up from mistakes. Don't be afraid to get hurt or to be hurt. As long as you both having each other, helping each other, sharing all the happiness and sadness together. Would it be more wonderful?

No, it is not weird at all. I wish I was close to my brother as close as you and your brother. What matters is the truth. If there is nothing there between you and your brother but just closeness, then that's all that matters. Forget what other people say or your friend.

Nope, as an only child she just doesn't get it.
Nothing in appropriate going on between you two.
Family does whe you do all the time, sisters and brothers,, sometimes 1st and 2nd cousins-if they live nearby.
Nothing to worry about, you're just lookining out for each other.

Just remember that it is human nature to fear the unfamiliar. Your friend is unfamiliar with the kind of relationship you have with your brother so she fears it, & the best label she could put on it is "weird".

of course she doesn't get it. It is perfectly normal to be close to your brother. Who doesn't need a best friend in life, and it's great to have someone look after you and for you to do the same to him. I think it's great.
