Congratulations! If you have a Planned Parenthood in your community, call them. They'll help provide the prenatal care that is VERY necessary and they'll help arrange all of your medical coverage for your hospital stay. Take good care of yourself and your baby.

Women Infants and Children (WIC) is a branch OF the health department. Wic will help provide food for you and the health department will provide medical care for you. (if you qualify) The department of social services offers the medicaid program which will cover all costs of pregnancy, birth, and will provide for that child until the age of eighteen in some cases. You do have to qualify for all of these things. For help with baby gear, both of these places have programs for baby stuff like layettes, car seats, strollers, even maternity clothes, etc.. and any of your local non-profit pregnancy organizations will help with that also. Social services also offers day-care assistance and a number of other programs that may be useful.

It's too late to get insurance because you're already pregnant. Go to wic or call the health department. They should be able to tell you how to apply for medicade then you can pick a dr. outside the health dept.

The health Department, from there they will apply you for medicaid, and then wic. But be prepared-- the health dept. is slow you will be there at least 2 hours.

pregnancy medicaid is probably your best bet. You can get the prenantal care you need and it shouldn't cost you anything. go to your local DHS office or health dept. and they should be able to point u in the right direction. Congratulations and Good Luck

There might be a women's clinic in your area. Check at your local library (they know EVERYTHING) to see if they know of a place, or search Google for something in your area. A lot of it depends on your income, but you absolutely have to have prenatal care, so this is a start.
