If you saw a couple fighting and one of them struck the other in anger, would you step in or just walk away? If it was the man that struck a woman would you? or if a woman struck a man?

I have never been hit nor would I stand to be hit. It is just a question.

If it was a man hitting a women I would probably step in. But you have to be careful. Police have responded to domestic abuse calls and have been actually attacked by the woman when they were struggling to get the man under control.

Good question. There are a lot of men who would think it cavalier to step in and help out a damsel in distress, but do you know that I was on a date with a guy once who tried to help & the woman told him ( after she clocked my date one time good ) to mind his own business. I also saw on TV, it might have been COPS, where a guy tried to help someone and he went to jail because he commited an act of violence against the perpetrator. It doesn't seem fair, but it does happen. Best thing to do is dial 911.

I couldn't walk away. I would definitely say something or do something if I saw a man hit a woman. I would probably loose my temper. That's just completely unacceptable. I would say something if it was vice versa also, but I don't know if I would be as outraged.

well if the woman hit the man i wouldnt really do anything unless the guy was really hurt, cuz usually we dont actually hurt guys too bad when we hit them. If the guy hit the woman, then i would go break it up. im a cop so its kinda my job to do that lol.

If it's a man hitting a woman I do tend to say something or otherwise get involved. A woman hitting a man I'd walk away from. He probably deserved it anyways. ;-)

I have been hit and I would say something, but not too much. Just to let him know I saw, I wouldn't want him to take it out on her later.

When I was younger, I would have stepped in, now I would just call 911 on my cell phone. To many people carrying guns out there to get to close.....

Of course I would step in if a man hit a woman...... now if the woman hit the man, then he can handle that..... but hitting a female is unexcusable.

I would walk up and ask if everything was ok....in either situation. Its kind of scary not knowing what will become of your actions. Hopefully there would be a positive outcome .
