I have a vase and on the bottom it says Italy 247/1......what does this mean or stand for?

it should mean that it is the first vase made in a line of 247 vases. Having the first one is usually a good thing, there only being 247 is usually a good thing, but it would be better if it were from a reputable vase maker. If it is from a nobody just some art shop on the corner then it is still cool that you have #1 of 247 but it's not worth any more than you paid for it. There are also huge manufacturers of cheap crap that just print numbers like that on the bottom of stuff to make it seem cool that you got the first one off the line. If you got it from a Wal-Mart or the like then you can bet that's what the deal is. But if you got it by the means mentioned to begin then congrats, you got a decent piece of art work that you obviously liked since you bought it.

This is usually a style/model number.
