i've had some light spotting yesterday and today. i'm not sexually active or on birth control.
i read that spotting is normal like a week before your period but mine's is not due for like 2 and a half weeks.
this has never happened to me before so i wanted to know if it is

It is normal to spot around the middle of your cycle. This is known to happen around ovulation. If you have a normal 28 day cycle you might spot on days 13-15. This is okay. This will actually come in handy when the time comes that you are wanting to have a baby. This will tell you when to "try".

Wow, there are so many answers to this. It could be as simple as ovulation spotting, which is something that some women can have every month, it could be as complicated as any type of reproductive cancer (cervical, uterine or ovarian). It could be caused by a cyst on the ovaries, or it could have been a cyst that dissolved. You might want to consider getting a check up (pap would be good), I'm of the thought you probably have nothing to worry about but I would have it investigated. Best of luck to you.

since you are not on birthcontrol or sexually active its normal. If you were on birthcontrol it could mean that the lining of your uterus is too thin....were you on birthcontrol and sexually active it could be break through bleeding.....breakthrough bleeding occurs when you have sex and the lining is too thin...hence you break through....it can cause hemmoraging. It happened to me when my BC pills weren't strong enough......you sound fine though so don't stress! Just be aware of it so it happens a lot you can have your doctor check it out......sometimes nature just gives us trouble.

It hasnt happened to me and when I heard about spotting it is usually because of those examples you gave, birth control, and sex. I would book an appointment with your local gyno just to be safe about what is causing the spotting.
