all babies walk at different ages. baby typically walk around their first birthdays.

was he late sitting up and crawling?

is he trying to pull himself up yet? if you hold his hands is he beginning to take steps?

give him time. if your parents are worried have him checked out by the pediatrician. they'll let you know if they think he has a problem developmentally but chances are he is just taking his time. he is probably loving all the attention he is getting from his older siblings - i bet you are more than willing to carry him wherever he needs to go! :)

take care. SD

I have twin sons, born premature by 7 weeks. One of them walked at 12 months and 3 weeks old, while the other didn't walk until he was 18 months old. I was so nervous, but every child is different. My two were completely different. I'm sure your brother will be walking in no time. Does he try to pull himself up on furniture and walk around things? Can he walk holding onto peoples hands? He is probably just taking his time. I wouldn't worry if he is reaching all of his other developmental milestones. Good luck!

Normal is 9 months to 2 years. My son is 14 months and showing no signs of wanting to walk. He cruises and crawls very well. Babies do everything in their own time. Your brother may not walk for several months yet. It is not uncommon. It's OK as long as he is reaching his other developmental milestones. Get down on the floor and play with him. That's the best way to help.

Most babies begin to walk at around 12 months of age, although, some can start at 9 months, and others much later after 14 months (my son started late). Have you discussed this concern with your mother and if so, does she seem worried ? (a mother's instinct often tells her when their is a problem with her child). I am sure if she was concerned she would have taken your brother to a Doctor for consultation by now. Perhaps if he is not walking soon, it would not hurt to get a professional opinion on this. Good luck.

If there is not much room for him to attempt walking...he may not do it. Sitting in chairs and hoping he'll come crawling to you and stand himself up. Holding his hands with a helper on each side of him and encourage him to walk. He might not be ready to walk. Check family members for the average age of walking and that may give you an idea of what to expect him to walk.
If he's never made to walk, perhaps he wont while he's being constantly waited on. Lastly, take him to a pediatrician and get referrals to neurology and chiropractor. good luck

The youngest I've heard of is 7 months. The far end of normal is 14-16 months.

Ask your pediatrician. My daughter walked one day at 10 months and then did not try again until she was 14 months old. She turned out to have major problems with balance due to badly pronate (think very flat) feet. Support in her shoes made an enormous difference.

Up to 18 mos is normal. Usually they walk at about 12 months. Is he pulling up? If so, he's going to walk soon. If not, then he probably just likes it when you pick him up. Check with the pediatrician, but I bet he will be walking within a few weeks. Good luck!

usually baby start to try walking around 1 year old. If there is people to lead or help them in walking, they can learn walking very fast. If your brother doesn't walk, you should try to hold his hands and lead him to walk.

Anywhere from 8 monthe to 2 years. I would ask his Dr. to check him over and make sure there is not an underlying problem preventing him from starting.
