I love contemporary Christian music. This is a link to my favorite station, they broadcast in many states:

I have a passion for music that extends to most all genres.

I've had the same problem in several churches. I come from a very traditional background in church and have run across several of my elders who feel that the only type of christian music is either southern gospel or the old hymns. I personally feel that it is a medium for spreading the gospel. It has a positive, Christ centered message, and is in a style of music that a great number of people (especially youth) enjoy listening to. You may heard this song, but if your haven't look it up. It's by Geoff Moore and the Distance. It's called "Why Should the Devil have all the Good Music." It's a really good song that takes a great position on this issue.

I can listen to ANY music that is contemporary. My problem is that there's hardly anything TRADITIONAL that I like. For instance, most people that "claim" they don't like country are thinking of traditional country, not realizing that they probably know a lot of contemporary country songs; they're thinking Buck Owens or Loretta Lynn, not Rascal Flatts or Sara Evans.
With Christian music, they're thinking "Bringing in the Sheaves", not "Deep Enough To Dream"-
Case in point:
I downloaded my own compilation CD of classical music, and played it at work-
most were surprized at how many of those classical pieces they actually recognized, and for awhile, that CD was the most requested by my patients when asked what music they wanted to hear (I worked at a rehab clinic at a naval hospital on a Marine Corps base). So, you see what I mean.
In short, THEY don't know what they mean.

I like music if it's good whether it's contemporary or it's from another era. Most people like music from the era they grew up in or have the best memories from. I don't care for Christian music. I think it's another way of brainwashing children into "believing".

A worship service could have worship songs and not songs you hear on a updated Christian radio stations. there's no longer very many worship songs on cutting-edge Christian radio stations properly there is a few yet no longer distinctive them. properly human beings can sing alongside to the music or no longer sing with the music. it incredibly is their decision in the event that they choose for to sing the music or no longer.

I think Christian contemporary is very bland and usually annoying to hear.
The old hymns are far more pleasing to hear.

Christian music is good, but it has gotten way too synth-y just like most other genres. Oh, for a good guitar, drum, and piano mixture!
