I'm not too sure what you're describing, but from what I can tell, the mini nails are most likely these special pins that you stick through the paper to hold down a picture, or layers of paper, or whatever you put on the page. It's a cute way of dressing up a page (better than Elmer's Glue).

As for the gray thing, I don't know what you're saying. Is it paper with a hole in it? Is it a stencil? Sorry--can't help you with that one.

More details, please, about the scrapbook itself.
If it's the kind where the front & back are 2 separate pieces they're probably:
1) the posts & washers that hold them together
2) If the 'nails" are hollow & the album is held together with string, they're supports to keep the string from tearing the pages.

The name of the company that made the album should be on it somewhere, see if they have a website. It should have some how-to's.

The things with the hole in the middle sounds like an eyelet. You need an eyelet setter, punch and small hammer for those.

The small nail sounds like a brad.
They are both decorations.
Look on ebay for similar pictures.
