Used caulk to fill nail holes after hanging crown molding. Applied caulk fairly thickly. What's the easiest and best way to sand? How can I minimize the mess when sanding?

No real way to avoid a mess. Use sandpaper to get the roughest of residue then use a wet washcloth tog et the rest. The stuff that falls to the floor from sanding will vaccum up easily. Good luck!

First, you shouldent have used caulk. A little spackling would have been better. I guess you have realized that by now. Caulk dosen't sand, but it does an excellant job of plugging sandpaper. Scrape it off.
