I've heard this song on the radio and I can never find it. In the chorus it says "you don't know what you got till it's gone," and after it it says ohh ba ba ba by someone who sounds like nellie furtado. I think it may have been big in the 90's, but does anyone know the song? I can't find it anywhere

Big Yellow Taxi by Joni Mitchell is the original from the 70's. Counting Crows did a popular cover called They Paved Paradise in the 90's.

Sounds like it's sampled from a song by Joanie Mitchell called Big Yellow Taxi. She did it in the 60's.
I don't know if Nelly Furtado did the song, but Janet Jackson did a version of it sometime in the 90's. Could that be who you're thinking of. If it is, then Janet's song would be called "Don't know what you got til it's gone"

The song was originally done by Joni Mitchell and was recently redone by Counting Crows. The original was better.

the song is called Big Yellow Taxi and it's been recorded by pretty much everyone in the free world though it was originally written by Joni Mitchell in the late 60's or early 70's

Originally it was (is) a Joni Mitchell song, but the Counting Crows (along with Vanessa Carlton) redid it.
