No, the Walt Disney Company will not be building a theme park in Missouri. I don't know where people hear these things - I am the biggest fan of the Disney Parks, so I always know what's going on. Lately, people have also been hearing rumors that Disney is building parks in Texas, Kentucky, Tennessee, etc. The Walt Disney Company has land purchased all over the world. Unless you've heard that a few hundred thousand acres have been purchased, it's definitely untrue. Perhaps it's land for a Disney Store, or just a rumor. The Walt Disney Company is expanding it's theme parks globally. There won't be any new Disney Parks in the U.S. any time soon. There's a list of the Walt Disney Company's latest projects and developments at Wikipedia.

I would say it is not true.
Rumors like this pop up all the time, but it is highly unlikely that Disney will ever build another theme park in the United States that is not in Orlando or Anaheim.
It is true that the company looked at building smaller "regional" parks in the 90's (i.e. Disney's America in Virginia) but that idea fizzled along with the rest of the Disney Decade when growth at the firm started to slow.

Disney has purchased land ALL OVER the world...doesn't neccesarily mean they're building something on it...YET.
Anyway, there's always some crazy rumors when it comes to Disney. I would consider it just another nutty rumor UNTIL I actually see it. =P
Why would they choose Missouri of all places though?

WHAT! If they r i think it would b nice to have them hilbillies down there have some action besides the daily pig feed. No offense to ppl that live in missouri , but reality check:a lot of ppl out of missouri think your hillbillies. Like up here in Pittsburgh. But up here we got Kennywood!
