A 100-watt bulb is necessary to do the cooking - no more, no less. If it is too much, it could cause a fire or melt the plastic on the oven, if it is not enough, the baked goods will not cook properly.
Make sure you get some quality brand bulbs though (GE, Sylvania, Philips, etc.). I have experience with cheap ones and they aren't worth it, trust me. The generic kinds you find at discount stores often aren't up to par with name brands and their actual wattage may differ from what's listed on the bulb or package. The cheap ones are also notorious for blowing - and you don't want to blow a bulb in the middle of baking a cake!
Also, when baking don't allow your child to bump the oven as it may blow the bulb (not to mention making the cake "fall").

You must have the 100 watt bulb in order for the food to cook. It should also be a clear bulb like is recommended frosted bulbs do not allow the oven to cook as hot

Yes, the lightbulb does the cooking. And any 100 watt bulb will work. Not just one designated for easy bake. Anything less won't cook the food. Anything more could cause a fire.
Cooking it in the regular oven works too.

Yes, the bulb is the source of heat for the oven. I do not know the watts required, but I suspect it is less than 100 watts. A higher wattage might damage the oven and even create a fire hazard. Check the manual!

yes you need a 100 watt light bulb because if you use less wattage then their wont be enough BTUs to properly cook the cakes . this oven was meant to have a 100 watt bulb only, capish?
