this depends on if the friend is male or female, if it's a joke or a real gift and how much you want to spend...
if it's a female, the best toy out there (in my somewhat experienced opinion) is the Pocket Rocket by Doc Johnson. It's got to be the original one though, not the knock off brands. I think it runs about $20 or 25 these days. I can't speak from personal experience but there is something called the oscillator that is supposed to be amazing...it's expensive though. I think it starts around $120. There is a whole website for that one.

It depends on the level of experience your friend has masturbating with vibrators and dildos (assuming your friend is a girl).
