Breakfast is always in the morning.
Lunch/Brunch is usually from around 11am - 2pm
Dinner/Supper is usually 4pm - 8pm

However any of these meals can be eaten at anytime. To get technical, Dinner and Supper is not the same! Dinner is a bigger meal then supper. Dinner would be held usually between 4pm - 8pm and then supper is considered a light snack maybe a sandwich or something later in the evening. Then again some people will say Supper and some will say Dinner meaning the same thing. I know one person who calls lunch dinner for all 3 meals, but I know what he means.

The noun breakfast has one meaning:
Meaning #1: the first meal of the day (usually in the morning)

The noun lunch has one meaning:
Meaning #1: a midday meal

The noun dinner has 2 meanings:
Meaning #1: the main meal of the day served in the evening or at midday
Meaning #2: a party of people assembled to have dinner together

The noun supper has 2 meanings:
Meaning #1: a light evening meal; served in early evening if dinner is at midday or served late in the evening at bedtime
Meaning #2: a social gathering where a light evening meal is served

You have breakfast in the morning. At noon you have lunch. At about 6:00 PM you have dinner. 3 meals a day in America. Some people call dinner.... supper. Some people also have what they call a midnight snack if they are up late enough.

This is a regional difference in American English. Some areas call the morning, midday, and evening meals breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Other areas call them breakfast, dinner, and supper. Does this help? American English is a confusing language...

Breakfast is in the morning, lunch at midday, and dinner (or supper) is usually the last meal, eaten at some point in the evening or late afternoon.
