I have pierced my ears 8 times before and now I'm thinking about piercing my belly button. I have the propor jewelry for it {surgical steel} and I have my old piercing cleaning solution handy to clean it, but I want to know how to do it proporly. To be honest, I wanted to go get it professionally done, but I live in a bad area and all the places I went to were dirty. I don't have the money for gas or the time to ride a bus to get to a nice piercing place. I just want to know if this is safe and how to proporly care for it.

By the way, I'm not living with my parents, I'm 19.

I think you should do the travelling and go to a reputable place to have it done. Why take the chance that you don't do it properly and end up with a scar where you want to show off your sexy body?

u've probably herd from every1 that self piercing is stupid + 2bh its probably simpler 2 go 2 a shop bt cos ur probs gna do it anyway ill tell u wot i did + hopefully itll help :D
i got sum clamps from ebay + sum STERILE needles from an internet site - most do them it depends on how many u want. i rlly suggest buying them as they r much easier 2 follow thru with jewellery + it slots in the end of the needle.
next i iced it cos i knew that there wos no was i was gna b as quick + clean as my usual piercer
then i drew 2 dots - entry+exit like they do wen u go2 a shop. i clamped it wiv clamps nt 2 tight but so i held the skin taught + still - anuva reason y clamps r a gud idea!
i pushed the needle threw which wasnt 2 bad it took alot longer then any of my others(not self-done) bt the jewellery sled straight thru after the needle. there was more bleeding than im used to bt nothing catastrophic
i left it for 48 hours before starting salt soaks + its doing well

so yeah, thats wot happend 2 me + how i did it so its up 2 u now wot u do jst make sure u hav the right sterile equipment
hope this helped xx

Don't do it yourself. Belly button piercings are easily infected. If you don't trust your neighborhood, go someplace outside your area to a place you trust.

honey, save your money then find the time to ride the bus.it seems as though there may be an infection in your future.
