Because the US is at least three times as immoral and illegal today as it was then.

When you understand the truth, then you might be able to sting someone with it. Clinton WAS impeached, for lying under oath. Any of the other "crimes" you deem him responsible for were never able to be proven in over eight years of trying by some very determined Republicans. Think you can do better? Please, let's hear the proof of all of the illegal things Clinton did. Then when you find someone, anyone, to accept your proof, storm Washington D.C. with it and demand action. Can't wait.

Nixon? Were you even around for that mess? There was so much proof of Nixon's crimes, including tapes from the Oval Office itself, that Nixon resigned, rather than be subjected to impeachment. See, it wasn't going to just be impeachment for Nixon. They would have convicted and removed him as well, and he knew it. Yeah, I know, history hurts when you can't rewrite it to fit your hatred.

Are you forgetting the Clinton was impeached? Nixon resigned before the impeachment process began because he was guilty. Clinton went through the process and guess what...he kept his position. Here's the real question...Clinton was impeached for "lying" about getting oral sex. Bush lied to send our people to an unjust war for imaginary reasons (WMD), has caused thousands of deaths, turned a huge budget surplus (which Clinton acheived) into a massive budget deficit, captured Saddam Hussein but still has failed to find Osama Bin Laden (remember him the man behind the attacks on September 11), etc. etc. etc. So maybe we should think about who should really be impeached here.

Nixon was a direct threat to the rule of the very law he vowed to uphold. Clinton got a BJ. One was a threat to civilization by the dishonesty of the head of the free world, the other a momentary pleasure that he would have been perfectly happy to keep private, and would have been in other times. The standard for impeachment is "high crimes and misdemeanors" so burglary, spying on citizens, unauthorized war making qualifies, bjs, on the other hand just don't quite rank up there. Even if its immoral, its not, or it shouldn't have been an impeachable offense. The charge of perjury, BTW would never have entered into it without six million dollars of investigation.

The truth is that Richard Nixon was involved in a burglary. He held up the end of the Viet Nam War causing more death and destruction and he was a very prejudiced individual.

He, like G. Bush should have definitely been impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors.

In Nixon's case there were many Republicans putting country above party. In Clintons case, there were many Democrats putting party above country.
BTW Clinton was impeached by the house, just not convicted by the Senate.

Clinton was impeached and then acquitted, (found not guilty of an offense worthy of removal from presidency), while Nixon was guilty and resigned to avoid the embarrassment of prosecution for crimes that he really did commit, so the real question is...why did the republican congress inflate the charges against the president?

You are sadly uninformed and uneducated. Clinton was impeached for lying about his personal behavior. Nixon resigned rather than take his punishment. he was pardoned BEFORE he was ever indicted, much less, convicted of a crime. I suspect that YOU are the one who is hurt by the truth and can't find a way to rationalize the insult you feel caused by your own party. In any case, we must learn from our mistakes, leave the past behind and get on with it. The future of our country is at stake and it is up to all of us to make it work.

Clinton was impeached.

"Impeached" simply means that the President is put on trial in the Senate for lawbreaking or dereliction of presidential duty.

"Impeached" doesn't mean "removed from office."

An impeached president can be removed from office.

But so far, neither of the two US presidents who have been impeached were removed from office. Both were acquitted in the Senate.

because he didn't actually do all that stuff... duh...

thanks for spamming a site that proves nothing but makes a lot of accusations...

hey, I can post a cite that says Bush did 9-11 too... and say things like "the truth stings you conservatives like a knife"...

except I have enough sense not to believe everything I see on the internet...

you're no better than they are with your fact-less conspiracy theories...

side note: you ever notice how the crazier a site is... the more likely it is to try to gain credibility by naming it's self something like "the truth"... "the facts"...

do you really need to put it in the name if you actually have the facts? probably not...

Clinton was impeached. Nixon wasn't, because he resigned.
