My friend was telling me that dating or marrying a personal trainer is a bad idea because they are only into their own looks and they leave their mates. I know several people who are married to personal trainers and out of all those couples, only 1 is happily married. One personal trainer I know left her man for another one. So, I just wanted to know- is it true that you are setting yourself up for a doomed relationship if you date or marry a personal trainer, male or female?

Are we working out at the same gym..huh huh...(just kidding)

You're asking the same question I was itchy to ask as well coz I feel I get flirted by my personal trainer. Anyway, I've found myself an answer so..I didn't really ask.

Let me share it with you.

I wrote down a few reasons to date them.

Some of them are exceptionally HOT...I really mean HOT...they mey look better than all the guys who come after you the whole life!!
Most of the good ones are caring..very caring...so caring thet melt your heart.
Many of them have a good sense of humor.
They can brighten up your days.
They make you smile.
They make you feel great about yourself.
They know your size, weight, height and measurement and also know the ugly parts of yours and, yet, they still appreciate the way you look (that's their job to make you feel good about yourself).
They have their eyes for you only (during the session).
They are up to every word you say (during the session).
Whenever you talk bad about yourself, they always say not at all..you are progressing and you look better and better and you are still pretty..(this is a part of their jobs as well..right?)
They touch you during the session and intimacy develops.
They meet you regularly 2-3 times a week.
They talk to you about many things so you feel like you know him/her so well.
They seems to get along so well with you (it's their job also to be compatible with their clients)
They are... oh so firm

A friend of mine married her own personal trainer who is 4 years younger than she is. She started having problems like he doesn't treat her the same way he did a few years ago, he starts complaining about her shape, he seems to be ignorant to her but so eager to go meet a hot client at the session.

My friend told me that it is good if she can have the same career and can spend lot of time taking care of herself to look good always. It is however impossible for her as she is an office executive, not a personal trainer like him.
She even ask me if she should start a career in spa or fitness industry.

Believe me the time you work out the endorphin plays a big part. It makes you happy and see things so pleasant.
But once you married someone all the magical feeling could be gone.

I heard the story and now I wrote down a few reasons not to date them.

They may nag you not to eat this and that and to work out and expect you to look just like the time they met you at gym.
They may eat and indulge themself coz they workout everyday while you live miserably cutting down you diet.
They may admire other girls' figures and you have to bear with it.
They won't be so attentive to you the same way as they did during the session.
Sense of humor could be gone.
They will not be up to every word you say like in the session (of course who can joke the whole day with wife!).
No more intimacy ( you're already married the person! )
You may not be so confident with your look seeing your spouse so firm and fit.
You may end up too jealous seeing your spouse flirting with client.
...

If you are in delemma, and if I were you, I would say no to the relationship with any of them unless you are in the same industry as theirs.

Dating A Personal Trainer

So, you have a sprained, strained, inflamed muscle with swelling. You don't need major medical expenses for this. Take your anti-inflammitories, rest the muscle, do hot and cold compresses until the swelling goes down , then GRADUALLY get back into working out. The personal trainer was wrong wrong wrong, but you had a choice to stop if you felt she was working you beyond your capacity. It does not seem a reasonable reason to sue. Even a REAL physical therapist can goof. It's your body, and you are the final arbitrator of what you can or should do. Never surrender your own knowledge of your body to someone else. Since the people at your wife's current gym seem incompetant, suggest to your wife she would be better off at another gym.

Spectrum, you know your body better than anyone. You realize the difference between "good" and "bad" pain concerning exercise. Your only mistake was believing that this woman was a credible "personal trainer and physical therapist". After you informed her that you' ve just recovered from an abdominal tear as well as having an old back injury, then this unprofessional woman proceeded to give you horrible advice based on her very limited experience. As a result, you received a lump in your back due to swelling from an irritated muscle. Both your doctor and surgeon advised you that this unprofessional "trainer" was practically guilty of malpractice. You need to get a lawyer and sue this unprofessional woman for malpractice and report her to appropriate medical board in your state. Also, seek monetary compensation for any possible treatment in your recovery. Hopefully, that wretched GYM will be shut down so that no one else may suffer any injuries. As for your wife, you should remain strong and defend your position about your stance on this alleged personal trainer. Keep reminding your wife that the people at this GYM are only friendly with her because she' s given them over a thousand dollars. Warn your wife that she shouldn' t allow this unprofessional woman or that despicable GYM come between your marriage. You (her husband) comes way before some trainer and a GYM. Hope this helps. Peace!

I don't think it necessarily makes a bad marriage. But it would be necessary to have a similar lifestyle with your partner if they're career is focused on health and nutrition. Anything opposite would create tension and dissatisfaction.

Well, you already know what to expect.

Are you gonna take a chance with a guy you gotta fight for the hair products???

Are you content ooohhhing and aaahhhing at HIS BODY while he ignores you???

I don't like to make general categories of people, but the male PTs I see at the gym are really dunces or they primp a lot. But who's to say their relationships have less chance than any other segment of population??
