More than likely Yankee candle co is going to be your best bet. There are these really neat scent diffusers at pier 1 and the smell good not to strong and last a good while.

I've gotten good candles at both Kohls and JoAnn's, but the consistency is erratic.
The best scented candles I've found as far as quality and consistent fragrance are Yankee Candles. If there isn't a store near you - you can go to Yankee Candle.com. They're a bit pricey, but worth it, and they last a long time.

There are many great kinds of candles you can buy. To get and keep a strong scent I buy the scented oil used to make candles and just add it to them to make them stronger or freshen them up. It is more cost effective in the end.

Yankee Candle is an excellent place to get STRONG-scented candles.

Also I would try Kohls (like the person above me said) and Target.

Kohls has some really good ones. They come in scents like sugar cookie, apple pie, coconut cream pie, etc. They come in small jars but they last a long time and they smell so good.
