The evenflo triumph is usually rated the same for safety and userability as the Britaxs and a lot cheaper. But the best other advice I have is to internet shop around and sign up for baby websites that send coupons. I spose (like cars) theres a time of year when new models come out, and the old ones get marked down, but not sure when.

I don't think they ever go on sale unless the company is discontinuing that model. That's how I got one for a good price. I started price shopping when my son was born. We bought one before he needed to move out of the infant seat.

If any company is trying to get rid of carseats at discount/sale/clearence.. They will do it before January 1st because they don't want all end of year inventory. It's a pain! Speaking from experience. I run my own Saddle/Tack/Grain/Feed business from our ranch. That's when I put everything on sale too is before January 1st because of end of year inventory.

Good luck!!

unfortunately no.. carseats aren't really a christmas gift, they are a necessary item. You should check your local big box store. my local BJs wholesale club sells eddie baur carseats more then 50% off
