Because most of the people who ask Q's about smoking on here are kids who really still believe that smoking makes them look grown up and cool.
Most adults that still smoke are ashamed of the fact that they still do it and would not likely ask a Q about it.
Trust me. I know. I used to smoke and I am just trying to save these kids the heartache of smoking up all their money and stinking up their breath clothes and homes for years to come.
Peace

The only reason you're not anti-smoking is because you're too weak to quit, or you sympathize with those who smoke for some ungodly reason. Smoking is a ridiculous waste of life and, more importantly, money! Anyone who smokes and complains about non-smokers and our anti-smoking messages is just too ashamed of the fact that they can't quit so they make it look like it's the non-smokers that have the problem, when really it's them and their own weakness.
People only leave anti-smoking messages because they care about other people. We anti-smokers also care about our right not to be exposed to smoke, which smokers should acknowledge, even if they have to be legally forced to acknowledge our right to a smoke-free environment!

What the non-smokers dont realize is once enough people quit smoking because of the taxes the gov.puts on tobacco.Where is the gov. gonna go for that money then? Maybe after the fat people by taxing fast food.Or people who buy suvs because of the gas they consume .
Once non-smokers dont have smokers to complain about they will always find something else to make the feel superior.

People are extremely prejudiced against smoking. I guess that's due partly to the media and partly to the health industry, both of which have extolled the dangers of smoking and second-hand smoke. Both have served to make smokers feel like lepers and second-class citizens. And those who have managed to successfully quit, are the leading proponents of the anti-smoke brigade.
I think there are two sides to every issue. While I don't condone smoking in teenagers or in children even younger, I think every adult should have the right to indulge in a pastime that he or she finds pleasurable, providing that it doesn't infringe on the rights of others, or expose babies and children to what is considered harmful to their health and well-being.
There was a time when smoking was acceptable and very few people ever complained about it. You can thank the surgeon general, whoever the heck he was at the time, for all the negativity regarding smoking. I remember when people smoked at their desks at work, and in public places such as restaurants, bars and dance halls. I can recall a time when smoking was permitted in hospital beds if one was a patient, and in instititutions of higher learning, such as colleges and universities, in classes. Them were the good old days, huh?
Now you can't even light up outside at football games or outdoor concerts. I sympathize with smokers who enjoy a cigarette after a meal, or who have to stand outside in subzero weather to smoke. While I would never advise anyone to start smoking, I can understand the plight of the long-time smoker who is treated like a pariah.
What I can't understand is why no one raises any kind of fuss about drinking, which causes broken homes, fatal car accidents, fights, shootings and murder. To me, alcohol and drugs are far more detrimental to one's health and wellbeing than smoking. Yet, the surgeon general seems to have blinders on when it comes to that scourge of mankind. Go figure!
One more comment on this controversial topic. I've known several people who have never smoked a cigarette in their entire life, and have never been exposed to second-hand smoke, who have died of lung cancer. Conversely, the great-grandmother of one of my friends smoked three packs a day, and occasional cigars -- and lived to the ripe, old age of 104, drove a car, took care of her own home, and never set foot in a nursing home -- I wonder what the surgeon general would say about that! I understand how you feel, my dear, but I can't speak for others. My best suggestion is to enjoy your cigarettes and don't ask for approval on this site. The answers you'll get will be prejudiced against you. You can't stop the negative comments, but you can plug your ears and blow smoke rings at your computer screen! Lots of luck!

Well most rabid anti smokers are really ex smokers. Any other rabid anti smoker is someone who was around a chain smoker as a child. I as a smoker wonder how these same people will act when they take away their alcohol. I don't drink so I know I will be a rabid non drinker and sound just like them if alcohol begins to get taken away. Look at how rabid gun toting yahoos behave.
