Not sure if you want electric or manual, but my favorite is the manual by Pampered Chef, leaves no sharp edges so it's safe around my toddler.

Can openers are just one of those kitchen items that always malfunction, i have a drawer full of them and as soon as i think i found a good one its a doozy! I suggest an electric can opener they work a little longer than the old fashioned ones. Good Luck!

Cuisinart & KitchenAid make a great handheld one, as well as Williams Sonoma. I have had the same can opener for twenty years...but it is a handheld manual, not electric.

I have one by "Good Grips" (one or two words, not sure). Lasted over 4 yrs so far, and looks and works like brand new. I think you can purchase one at Walmart.

Go to your local Army surplus store and get a P38. I have one on my keychain and have had it for years and it still works as good as it did when I first got it
