Yes, there are a number of ways to run Windows programs on a Mac, ranging from emulation (Virtual PC) to full native performance (Apple Boot Camp, Parallels Desktop).

HOWEVER, for you there may be a better way.

Investigate the available OS X USB webcam drivers provided by the open source project macam and the commercial drivers of IOXperts. Links are below. If you find your webcam supported, you'll be able to use it with Mac apps without any need to resort to Windows.

You can run Windows software on an iBook G4 using Virtual PC. However, that probably won't help you much, since it sounds as though you have a different issue, that being that your webcam may not work with your Mac. If that's the case, I suggest you check the camera manufacturer's website first -- there may be Mac drivers available for download. If not, then search the Web and see if others have managed to get this particular camera working with a Mac; even if the manufacturer doesn't officially support it, it may well be possible. Good luck!

The iBook G4 has window compability so the webcam should work. Check the support section on Apple website to see how to make it work.

We need more details of your operating system. OS X comes with many, many drivers. There are many free and almost free webcam utilities for OS X. Download a popular one from www.download.com or versiontracker.com and just plug in the webcam and start up the program. It probably will work.
