yes, it does, i've done it at least ten times.
it depends how you bought it, if cash, they'll give cash back to u. (if u want to, u can ask for a gift card, so u don't have to lug extra money, but u would have to use it sooner or later in a WALMART)
if credit or debit they'll give u a slip to say they gave u back the credit or debit money.
