I honestly saw this one in the paper. The little girl's first name was Shi' Thead. Why would a parent do that to a child??? (for those who can't see it, remove the apostrophe)

My sisters name is Charley. It's getting to be a pretty common name now, but when we were growing up it wasn't and she got teased alot. My 'friend' named her daughter Mysam (pronounced Maysome) because my husband is called Sam and she has wanted him since they were teenagers.

I attended a course with a woman named Amentia. Sounds pretty enough, right?
Check the dictionary: It means "lack of intellectual development; imbecility; severe mental retardation."
No, I didn't ask if she knew.
