Contrary to what "harry" says, I would let it warm for at least five minutes because engine oil in diesels is much thicker than gasoline engines, so its best not to put a load on it when the oil cannot flow easily which may damage your turbocharger or other things. When its below freezing I let them warm up between 5-10 minutes

Since I'm a slow driver anyway, and the weather is pretty good around here most of the time, I don't warm mine up any longer than it takes to get the air pressure up to 110PSI. That's about 1 minute.

It takes another 10-15 minutes to get to a major highway where the speeds are over 40MPH.

dont warm it.. just start it and drive, it will warm up as you drive and you will get better oil flow and therefore lubrication as you drive.
