Why not, right? I mean, we did get there first. If you look it up, there is a company in San Francisco that sells real estate on the moon. Sure, it's a total scam, but it's funny that it works.
In answer to your question, I think that if any other country in the world claimed that they owned the moon, the US would probably give them a big melvin until they agreed that we own the moon.

Of course America owns the moon. When we planted the flag on the moon in 1969, it became ours baby. Don't you remember in the movies when a ship would go across the ocean and someone would plant a flag? Same thing. It is ours.

according to Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz, Odd's father sent a letter to some group of people... the United Nations (?) because no one owned the moon,,, and he is selling it for 1 sq foot for $15.

Uh, yeah! We Canadians own a lot of stuff... although the moon is not part of that list!!! We have like the biggest water resources on Earth!! So don't come crying to us when you die of thirst :p
