I'm guessing you got you're period when you were either 12 or 13.
This exact same thing happened to me, i'm 15 and mine is finally normal. For some girls it can take up to two whole years before there period is normal and consistent. i would totally skip mine some monthes..if you know you haven't had sex or anything don't be alarmed. you're actually lucky..cuz you might not have it every month for awhile. just make sure for the first 2 years..you always have supplies with you because it will suprise you. i hope i helped you :]

When you first start having periods some months you will have one and some you won't. Sometimes you will have one and have another 2 or 3 weeks later. After about a year you should become regular.

Initially, your first several cycles of menses may be irregular and not come as you expect them. Eventually your cycle will regulate and you will be able to pinpoint your monthly periods. Some women have problems regulating their cycles and end up taking a birth control pill or some other treatment prescribed by their doctors to alleviate the problems.

your period can be absent for many reasons even if you aren't sexually active.
>your body can be switching patterns, already!-yes
>your period might be irregular/ body programmings it could be just how your body is
>you might be lacking nutrients or not eating what you need to eat and therefore your body doesn't have enough blood for period (but i don't think that's it cause if your health ever gets that low then you would probably faint on several occasions)
because i've missed months of period my mother took me to the doctor and she said that missed periods is only normal and if i'm not sexually active that's ok and that i shouldn't worry too much about it unless i miss them for like 5-6 months consecutively and if that however happens then i should see her or another doctor

Because your body hasn't established a normal cycle yet, it's very common for girls to have irregular periods, especially for the 1st couple of years after they start. Don't worry, you're okay.

Don't worry, at your age it may take up to a year or two before you settle into that predictable once a month cycle. Relax. You're fine.

Most girls' cylcles don't regulate until they have had their period for a year, possibly two. Don't worry. If it continues to stay irregular after that amount of time (or if you're still a little worried) talk to your doctor.

your 13 ... and it just started ... sometimes it gets effected by stress, weather changes, you cycle may change to be in sync with other women you around ... keep an eye on it ... mine came at 11 and disappeared until I was 15 so it is normal (per my doctor at the time).

your body is still changing and the hormone levels havent leveled out yet. its common to be very irregular for a while. dont panic. if you are really concerned talk to your doctor or have your mom take you to see her. it doesnt hurt to have an exam and lab work to make sure you are healthy.

When you're just starting your period in your teens, your period can be irregular and can skip months or even years.

It happened to me when I was 13.
