I deleted a few programs that I didn't use anymore off of my parent's computer. It said I needed to restart it, so I did. But when it came back from restarting, the screen size had shrunk (it doesn't fill the entire screen), the cursor is about an inch thick, and when you scroll down it moves real slow and in a jumpy motion. I tried to restore it to the day before, but the computer tells me it cannot be done. Anyone know how I can fix these problems? I checked everything on the control panel and I am sure it is simple. I tried to change the screen resolution, and of course tried to adjust it on the monitor controls but that didn't work. Any suggestion??

OK for starters what happen was most likely this. You deleted games/programs no longer in use. When you load software - the software will share operating system files, most common are .dll and .ocx files. .dll files are dynamic link library files that call up functions.
When you deleted the software it may have asked you if you want to remove/delted shared files. If you said yes, then you popped the files out of the system files operating system.
I am explaining this because the next step is to reload the operating system from disk. If the files are gone, then they are gone. Other software that needs the .dll files will run pretty poorly or not at all if the system is not restored.
This has happen to most of us as we learn the hard way to read all message prompts from the screen. good luck

You try to restire the PC to some other day . It will work. I suggest that you simply carry out a system restore to a date when the computer was working normally with out such problems. This should undo the changes that have taken place and the PC should work normally. If you find some problem after system restore you have options to revert back or chose another date. Detailed instructions are posted at http://fixit.in/systemrestore.html...... Subsequently you install astandard antivirus and an antispyware.
Also vist the site at http://fixit.in/slowcomputer.html and do the need ful.

Sounds tome like you uninstalled a program that the drivers for the video card or maybe the monitor or something. Try to boot to safe mode by pressing f8 on startup. This will start the computer in VGA mode and work.See if you've got an expansion video card and find the driver disk or download it. Maybe try to find the disks the computer came with and reinstall the video driver if that is the problem.

Well, for starters go to the start menu and then go to accessories. From there go to system tools. Click on defragment. Defragment the computer.
After you do this go to the start menu and click on control panel. Get to system restore. From there restore the settings to yesterday's date.
Whatever it was you deleted changed something. So you need to restore it!
