I know that a friend is someone you can depend on and trust but what exactly is a "best" friend? I am so confused!

~some one you can trust.
~understanding if you have a prob. and they're part of it they'll try their hardest to make it better without making a big deal.
~somebody you can spend the night with, having sleepovers or just spend the whole day on myspace with.
*if you cant laugh with them and joke around with them you can be qualified as a best friend in my book. A quote "a friend will call you a retard, a best friend will call you a retard then turn around and be one with you."* {lol}

Someone you can depend on and trust sounds like a plain friend, not a best. A best friend should be much more than that. They should be more like someone that could be a sister or brother.

A best friend is someone that you can talk to or hang out with time to time or trust with money or anything valuable if you can't do that with a best friend then that is not a friend. But, i feel that the only best friend that you can have is God and your mother because a mother knows best always remeber that. God also should be the most important person in our whole life...........trust in the Lord and no one else.

will always stick up for you regardless if it’s not the popular thing to do

A best friend to me would be someone who you trust completely and have all the confidence in the world in. Someone who is so close to you it's as if they were your brother or sister. The "Best" of all the friends you have.

A best friend is one who sits beside you when you cry, and has the sense to keep their mouth shut. They are the one who holds your hair/purse/coat while you puke your guts out, and drives you home, then takes you back to get your car in the morning. They are the one you tell everything, who listens quietly taking it all in, and hangs out with you anyway. They are the one person in all the world you would turn to if you'd just committed a crime, because they would give you the best advice.

Best friends ... yes I think you can have more than one "best" friend, if you simply think of best friend as a level of friendship above and beyond the usual.
What are you confused about? Did you say someone was a best friend and another friend got mad because they want to be your best friend?
A best friend to me is someone who is there ready and willing to pick you up when the pieces of your life go all to pieces. They listen, they care, they try to help.
They are thoughtful and try to do nice things -- the same as you try to do for them. They reciprocate when you do something nice for them.
They are people whose company you particularly enjoy and who are particularly willing to help you with life's travails.

You can have only ONE best friend. It is the person who knows more about you than you know yourself and loves you regardless. They also support decisions you make even if they dissagree with them. My Best friend lives 5+1/2 hours away yet I couldnt live without her in my life!!!

I think a best friend is a friend that likes you for who you are. So if you know which one that is then i would hang with them the most I have one her name is Baylie I can trust her with all of my secrets.

People call someone their best friend for many different reasons. For me it's the friend that I consider yourself closest to or the one who understands me best. This person has known me for a long time, over 11years but she was my best friend almost immediately!
